We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineering Manager to lead our Data Platform squad within the Platform division. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for mentoring and coaching team members, cultivating a collaborative team environment, and driving delivery of high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of 10 engineers in delivering great software that meets the needs of our customers and sellers
- Collaborate with the product group and other tribes to align the team with company objectives and initiatives
- Develop and implement processes and practices to improve team efficiency and productivity
- Work closely with the team to identify and address technical challenges and opportunities for improvement
- Ensure the development of people and teams through ongoing coaching and mentoring
- Establish open communication and a culture of feedback between team members
- Work in an agile environment where engineering teams build, launch, monitor, and support the sections they own
- Experience in leading and managing technical teams, with a strong background in data engineering and architecture
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members
- Strong technical skills, with expertise in data engineering, architecture, and infrastructure
- Experience working in agile development teams, with knowledge of our technical stack, including GCP, Terraform, Datadog, Python, and Scala
- Ability to understand and address technical challenges and opportunities for improvement
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements
