Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Crowds Technical Assistant to join our team at Skydance. As a Crowds Technical Assistant, you will play a critical role in maintaining our crowd tools, providing front-line support to our artists, and troubleshooting issues in our CG pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a deep understanding of the Crowds workflow and ensure its smooth operation.
- Help maintain and improve a wide array of existing workflows and scripts, ensuring they are efficient and effective.
- Provide front-line production support to our Crowds Animators and Simulation artists, troubleshooting assets and shots, and helping artists with general problem-solving.
- Monitor technical requests, package up problems, and redirect them to the appropriate technical team.
- Test and validate tools and techniques in production, working closely with tech teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Maintain a consistent level of productivity while meeting deadlines and producing high-quality work.
- Update documentation for the pipeline and tools to reflect any changes made.
- Follow the guidance of our Supervisor and Lead.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining tools for use in a CG environment.
- At least 3 years of production experience in visual effects for film, commercials, or television.
- Proficiency in Linux.
- Advanced Python scripting required.
- Experience in Maya, Houdini, and RenderMan.
- Ability to communicate cross-discipline and provide innovative solutions to pipeline issues.
- Detail-oriented and strong self-sufficient troubleshooter.
- Medium English level required. Spanish desirable.
