Software Development Engineer - Cloud Computing

At Amazon, we're looking for talented Software Development Engineers to join our team and help us innovate and build cutting-edge cloud computing services. As a Software Development Engineer, you'll work on designing and building scalable, fault-tolerant, and low-cost distributed systems that power our cloud platform.

You'll collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market. You'll design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems, and work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment
  • Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed
  • Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use
  • Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science
  • Programming experience in internship or coursework with programming language such as Python and/or C or C++

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's or PhD degree with focus on computer science
  • Strong knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis
