We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Administrator to join our team at Ljselection. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and maintenance of our IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:- IT Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain our IT infrastructure, including network, server, and storage systems.
- System Monitoring and Maintenance: Perform daily system monitoring, verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
- Backup and Recovery: Verify that backup procedures are carried out and have been verified as successful in line with employee IT policies.
- Performance Tuning and Optimization: Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
- Hardware and Software Management: Maintain data centre environmental and monitoring equipment, and ensure that all IT equipment is in good working condition.
- User Support: Provide basic user training and support in the use of common PC software and specialized property management software as needed.
- Satellite Communication Systems: Monitor and support the satellite communication systems to ensure that the system is operating to optimum performance.
- Team Collaboration: Align with the teams and IT vendors for our newbuild ships in construction yards and oversee the new build deployment progress.
- Education: Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- Language: Proficient in English. German language skills would also be a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of four years practical hands-on experience in a similar role (e.g. System Administrator).
- Skills: Good experience with Windows installation and administration, domain of Active Directory features (DHCP, DNS), and Failover clusters.
- Technical Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and repair PC and printer hardware, good understanding of LAN and WLAN networking, hands-on experience installing hardware and software, experience with VMWare VSphere, Hyper-V, XenDesktop, and Proxmox.
- Soft Skills: Excellent time management, excellent attitude and interpersonal skills, ability to follow directives of onboard management to adhere to all behavioural, safety, and other rules for crew members.
