Database Systems Architect

The Database Systems Architect role at Gaming Innovation Group is a pivotal position that oversees the design, implementation, and maintenance of high-performance database systems. This multifaceted role encompasses a range of critical tasks, including database replication management, backup and recovery procedures, performance optimization, capacity planning, monitoring, and documentation.

As a Database Systems Architect within our organization, you will play a central role in ensuring the reliability, resilience, and efficiency of our database infrastructure. Your contributions will be instrumental in maintaining the health and vitality of our database systems, enhancing our ability to deliver high-quality services to our clients and stakeholders.

This role requires a blend of technical expertise, meticulous attention to detail, proactive problem-solving, and diligent documentation practices. Key responsibilities include:

Constructing and upholding database systems characterized by superior availability and quality
Designing and implementing database designs in alignment with information needs and different perspectives
Configuring diverse database replication strategies to ensure seamless data synchronization
Utilizing high-speed transaction recovery methods and proficiently managing data backups
Efficiently mitigating database downtime while optimizing parameters for swift query response times
Facilitating the transfer of knowledge within the team to foster collective expertise
Providing proactive and reactive support for data management, ensuring data security, privacy, and integrity
Establishing, enforcing, and meticulously documenting database policies, procedures, and standards
Regularly conducting tests and evaluations to safeguard data security and maintain data integrity
Vigilantly monitoring database performance, implementing necessary modifications, and applying updates and patches as required

Minimum Requirements:
A minimum of three years of experience in the field, with a preference for experience in organizations operating within industries such as i-gaming or e-commerce
Proficiency in PostgreSQL open-source database technologies is essential - preferably with both On-prem and RDS (AWS) experience
Familiarity with other relational database management systems (RDBMSs) like Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL is considered advantageous
