Position Overview
The Apprentice Simulator Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring that simulation training apparatus meets required availability standards.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting standard operational readiness checks to prepare simulation training equipment for daily use.
- Performing preventative maintenance as per established schedules for each training device.
- Executing Qualification Test Guide (QTG) procedures according to monthly schedules for each training device.
- Loading relevant exercise scenarios and completing necessary tasks to prepare the equipment for specific training sessions.
- Learning to diagnose reported issues, confirm simulator functionality, and address basic operational and maintenance challenges.
- Assisting in equipment restoration or escalating complex issues to senior personnel.
- Carrying out housekeeping tasks and maintaining logs before and after scheduled training sessions.
- Supporting senior engineers in maintenance, troubleshooting, and certification processes.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Pursuing a technical college qualification.
- Basic understanding and experience with computing hardware, software, and operating systems.
- Interest and preferably some background in mechanical and electrical engineering systems.
- Fundamental knowledge and curiosity about aviation and aircraft systems.
- Proficiency in PC applications such as Word and Excel.
- Fluent in English.
