Salary: The estimated annual salary for this role is around $160,000, considering the industry standards and location.
Job Description
We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Geospatial MLE to join our Vegetation Modeling team at Overstory. As part of this role, you'll work with small groups to experiment, build, and improve algorithms for understanding vegetation's impact on customers. Your focus will be on satellite imagery and geospatial datasets, using machine learning or deep learning to analyze their contents. You'll regularly interface with data and models through Python code, QGIS projects, and Dagster pipelines.
In this position, you'll also collaborate closely with upstream teams responsible for ingesting data and downstream teams that refine or deliver outputs to customers. You'll have the opportunity to shape how we work within our team and across the organization, influence key decisions about our platform and pipelines, and scope out impactful projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Strong background in geospatial data science, machine learning, and deep learning
- Experience working with satellite imagery and other geospatial datasets
- Proficiency in Python, QGIS, and Dagster pipelines
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment
