**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer - Billing Systems to join our Commercial Systems team at Canonical. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and operating our internal billing system, ensuring a consistent billing experience for all Canonical customers across all products and services.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop scalable and efficient billing systems using Go or Python
- Collaborate with colleagues on technical designs and code reviews to ensure high-quality solutions
- Deploy and operate services developed by the team, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems
- Seek opportunities to improve engineering and operations practices, driving continuous improvement
- Experience as a software developer in a high-level language, preferably Go or Python
- Experience building, deploying, and operating distributed systems and APIs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to collaborate remotely with a diverse set of team members and stakeholders, remaining highly motivated, productive, and organized
- Ability to travel to international destinations for one week at a time, approximately 2-4 times per year
- Experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, or Stripe APIs
- Experience in a business role such as sales, finance, or operations
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related engineering field
