Security Technical Specialist

Empower Our Customers with Microsoft Cloud Security Solutions

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Technical Specialist to join our team at Microsoft. As a key member of our SMC and Digital Sales organization, you will play a critical role in empowering our customers to modernize their security architecture and posture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deep technical understanding of cloud security architectures, solutions, and technologies, including Microsoft M365 Defender, Defender for Cloud, and Sentinel.
  • Coordinate with sellers and managers to understand opportunities, competitive scenarios, and engagements to focus on, engaging and driving to own and win technical decisions.
  • Remediate blockers, lead, and ensure technical wins for Microsoft Security and adjacent technologies.
  • Engage with and reach out to customers proactively and independently, building credibility as a trusted advisor for Microsoft Security, driving customer intent to buy, and facilitating handoff to customer success for post-sales deployment.
  • Develop strategies and recommendations to improve the client's security posture, shape technical win plans, and tailor Microsoft messaging to the audience for security opportunities.
  • Lead technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and architecture design sessions to help solve customer security challenges and priorities.
  • Demonstrate and oversee proof of concepts, present and apply architecture patterns, prove capabilities and integration into customer environments, and drive cross-workload support for Microsoft solutions for security.
  • Engage with other teams within and outside the organization throughout the sales cycle.
  • Supporting partners in sell-with scenarios and driving their technical capabilities is key to scaling solution delivery.
  • Maintain deep theoretical and experiential technical knowledge of MS security solutions, competitive landscape, and industry trends.
  • Document and share best practices and learning with others, enabling and contributing to the success of others on your team.
  • Share knowledge and learnings with partners to drive the sale, deployment, and adoption of Microsoft solutions.
  • Complete required training and obtain relevant product and role certifications aligned to the role and workload/industry.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in German is essential.
  • Demonstrated Security Technology pre-sales or Security Technology consulting experience.
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Certification in Microsoft 365 Security Administration or Azure Security.
  • One or more of Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, iAPP, etc.
  • Hands-on technical knowledge of relevant products and solutions, including Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, Next Gen Web Application Firewalls and Secure Web Gateways, and Experience with Threat detection technologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of one or more cloud security standards and frameworks such as CIS, NIST, CSA, etc.
