About the Role

The Koffi & Diabaté Group is seeking a highly skilled Fabrication Laboratory Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our fabrication team, you will be responsible for supporting students and staff in the use of digital fabrication machines, including CNC milling, laser cutting, and 3D printing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to students and research projects, ensuring the successful completion of fabrication tasks
  • Teach and assist in courses focused on digital fabrication, sharing your expertise with students and colleagues
  • Manage and organize the booking system for students' use of laboratory machines, ensuring efficient use of resources
  • Perform basic setup, maintenance, and upgrade of laboratory spaces and machines, ensuring optimal performance
  • Participate in the production of applied research projects, industrial applications, product design, and knowledge transfer, leveraging your expertise in digital fabrication and related technologies

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work closely with students and professionals
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Practical ability, manual dexterity, and attention to detail
  • Language: English (+ Spanish appreciated)
  • Willingness to learn, motivated, enthusiastic, and social
  • Expertise in Parametric Design, Digital Fabrication, Electronics, Physical Computing, and relevant technologies (Rhinoceros 3D, RhinoCam, Grasshopper 3D, Arduino, Python, Laser Cutter, Milling Machine, 3D printers, Industrial Robots, AR, VR, Drones, etc.)
  • Previous experience in managing students and interacting with a team
  • Craftsmanship knowledge, applied to Architecture or design
  • Carpentry
