About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer to join our team at ING. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and scalability of our platform, providing guidance to product teams on achieving availability goals, and developing SRE practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of SRE practices, including observability, incident response, and postmortems.
  • Prevent and prioritize capacity management, reliability testing, and error budgeting.
  • Identify areas for improvement and provide technical assistance to IT service owners.
  • Define and report SRE metrics to ensure high reliability, availability, efficiency, security, and scalability.
  • Foster a culture of optimal observability and monitoring.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in SRE and platform management.
  • Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align SRE objectives with business goals.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of system design principles, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Deep knowledge of monitoring and observability tools, including Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog, AppDynamics, and New Relic.
  • Solid knowledge in Linux, system monitoring, Infrastructure-as-a-Service, and configuration management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems using high- and low-level debugging tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge in Ansible, Docker, Azure DevOps, cloud computing, and container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift).
  • System testing skills, including performance testing to stress systems and find limits.
  • Experience with version control tools (Git) and ability to automate using Python/Go.
