We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Kubernetes Infrastructure team at New Relic, Inc. in India. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the backend infrastructure for deploying and maintaining hundreds of Kubernetes clusters that host our applications on the multi-cloud platform of Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google GCP.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Develop Infrastructure Components: Build, maintain, and scale Go clients/projects and their support tools to ensure seamless deployment and management of Kubernetes clusters.
- Contribute to New Relic Infrastructure: Collaborate with team members to develop and manage the New Relic infrastructure, leveraging open-source technologies such as Cluster API.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with team members to discuss and implement service improvements, research new tools and services to solve sophisticated problems, and contribute to open-source projects.
- Agile Environment: Work in an agile environment with a DevOps approach, participating in second-layer support rotations and contributing to the development of Infrastructure as Code (IAC).
- Professional Experience: 4+ years of professional work experience in software development and/or operations.
- Education: BS/MS in Computer Science, or education/experience in a relevant field.
- Programming Skills: Hands-on experience coding in programming languages such as Golang, Java, Python, or Bash.
- Containerization Experience: 4+ years experience with containerization tools - Kubernetes, Istio, Cluster API, Crossplane, etc.
- System Administration: Solid background in application and system programming, and Linux system administration.
- Infrastructure as Code: Involvement in building Infrastructure as Code (IAC).
- Cloud Experience: Deep understanding of security, reliability, performance, and cost-effectiveness of distributed systems on public cloud providers like Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google GCP.
- CI/CD Tools: Experience working with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, Travis CI, Circle CI.
- API Design: API design and development exposure with Go programming language.
- Cloud Technologies: Experience in cloud technologies like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Linux Operating System: Solid understanding of the Linux operating system and concepts such as virtual machines and containers.
- Open Source Development: Active participation in open source development.
