Zurich Australian Insurance is seeking a skilled Climate Data Specialist to join our Climate Resilience team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and deployment of state-of-the-art risk assessment methods and tools.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Developments: Collaborate with our technical functions to develop and continuously update climate and natural hazards data. Stay up-to-date with global sustainability regulations and frameworks to identify needs in terms of climate data and develop solutions.
- Customer Projects: Source and analyze data from internal and open-source databases to transform natural hazard and climate change exposure data into key messages and insights to help our customers build climate change resilience.
- Communication: Create, maintain, and share natural hazard and climate change training and knowledge content with our internal stakeholders and customers.
- Master's degree in natural/environmental/atmospheric sciences.
- Deep understanding of Climate Change and Natural Hazards science, models, and their practical implementation.
- Experience in spatial data management, climate data, spatial analysis, and visualization, big datasets, transforming data into insights for decision-making.
- Ability to clearly communicate complicated concepts in a concise and compelling manner to all levels of management and stakeholders.
- High level of proficiency in data analytics and tools for visualization of spatial data and software, e.g., Power BI, ArcGIS, and programming languages (R, Python, etc.).
- Fluent in written and spoken English at a technical level with strong customer service orientation.
