Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Customs and Procurement Specialist to join our team at Amaranth Business Solutions Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth clearance of import, export, and bonded shipments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Deliver service excellence daily, adhering to Amaranth Business Solutions Limited's Customer Service Philosophy.
  • Customs Clearance: Clear shipments from various ports of entry, including Piarco Airport, Point Lisas Port, and the Port of Port-of-Spain.
  • Documentation: Prepare all required documentation for customs bonds, shipments, and other logistics-related activities.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain excellent relationships with local and foreign suppliers to ensure timely delivery of shipments.
  • Financial Management: Disburse and reimburse petty cash, prepare journals for cash used, and ensure accurate and timely completion of relevant paperwork.
  • Reporting: Prepare management reports and SLAs, as well as assist in the logistics of containers and LTL.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environment standards, practices, and applicable legislation.
Requirements
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience in a Customs environment.
  • A minimum 5 CXC passes, including Mathematics and English.
  • Customs Grade I Certification/License.
  • Working knowledge of ACE 2007.
  • Experience in preparing customs documents.
  • Strong knowledge of shipment, bonded, and duty-free clearances.
  • Strong knowledge of customs bonds.
  • Knowledge of Customs Asycuda World software (an asset).
  • Knowledge of Customs Laws and Procedures (an asset).
  • Knowledge of tariffs (an asset).
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent planning, organizing, and time management skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and apply new technologies quickly.
  • Knowledge of Purchasing (an asset).
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise commensurate levels of initiative and judgment.
