Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced University Guidance Counselor to join our team at Teach Away Inc. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in guiding our high school students through the college application process, with a particular focus on sports recruitment, especially for tennis elite athletes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Personalized Guidance: Offer individualized counseling to high school students from 9th to 12th grade regarding academic planning, university selection, and career exploration.
  • NCAA Eligibility Support: Assist student-athletes, particularly tennis players, in navigating the NCAA eligibility process, including maintaining an NCAA account and ensuring compliance with recruitment rules.
  • Conferences and Meetings: Conduct conferences with parents and students to discuss academic progress, university options, and future goals.
  • Academic Planning: Collaborate with students to develop academic plans tailored to their country of choice and university aspirations.
  • University Fairs and Tours: Organize and host university fairs on campus, inviting representatives from various institutions to provide information and guidance to students. Plan and lead university tours to the USA, providing students with firsthand exposure to different campuses and environments.
  • Application Support: Stay updated on educational platforms such as the Common Application, Studielink, UCAS, and others, to assist students in navigating the application process effectively.
  • Availability and Flexibility: Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate student and family needs, including availability for evening and weekend meetings or events.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in counseling, education, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • Teaching Experience: Minimum 3 years of teaching experience.
  • Certifications: Teaching Credential/License, TESL/TEFL Certificate over 100 hours.
Preferred Qualifications
  • USA Certification.
  • Teaching Experience: Five or more years of teaching experience.
  • Differentiated Instruction: Experience in differentiating instruction, and supporting students with learning challenges.
  • American Education Standards: Knowledge of the American style of education and standards.
  • Team Leadership: Experience in leading teams and instruction in a secondary school setting.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Well-developed interpersonal skills.
