Position Overview:

We are looking for a meticulous and dedicated Financial Accounting Analyst to enhance our dynamic finance team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accurate execution of corporate accounting functions, including transactions, entries, reporting, and maintenance, in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the Volkswagen Group Accounting Handbook. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting year-end financial processes and meeting both internal and external audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

The Financial Accounting Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Preparing monthly financial statements for the organization and its subsidiaries in accordance with IFRS, along with overseeing related month-end activities.
  • Compiling monthly consolidated financial statements and necessary disclosures for submission to headquarters, ensuring adherence to IFRS.
  • Conducting monthly financial reporting related to impairment for the Risk Department.
  • Performing monthly reconciliations, investigating, and resolving outstanding issues in collaboration with other departments.
  • Drafting year-end statutory financial statements, including footnotes and disclosures.

Additionally, the role involves:

  • Analyzing monthly performance metrics and significant variances, providing insights to headquarters for any inquiries.
  • Implementing new accounting standards as required.
  • Reviewing financial statements, reporting on variances, and addressing outstanding issues with relevant departments.
  • Collaborating with the Controlling Department to identify major deviations from budget forecasts.

Support and Development:

The analyst will assist in:

  • Developing and maintaining financial control procedures for reporting under IFRS guidelines.
  • Facilitating internal and external audits concerning control testing, account verifications, and other related projects.
  • Supporting the manager and team members with various ad hoc projects.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Recommending and maintaining the general ledger chart of accounts and cost centers to ensure proper transaction disclosures.
  • Proposing enhancements to processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

5-7 years of professional experience in:

  • Financial analysis
  • Financial reporting
  • Financial services or consumer finance

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (Required)
  • Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance (Desired)

General Skills:

  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking abilities.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills.
  • Capability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and apply new knowledge.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word, with advanced Excel skills including database concepts, PIVOT tables, and various functions.

Specialized Skills:

  • Knowledge of captive insurance accounting and applicable regulations (Required).
  • Experience with accounting for Vehicle Service Contracts and related products (Preferred).
  • Understanding of IFRS and financial reporting principles.
  • Familiarity with internal controls and business processes.

Work Flexibility:

  • Minimal travel (5%) may be required.
  • Long hours may be necessary during month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing periods.
