Program Overview
The CAB is seeking an astrophysicist to join an international joint research program focused on applying innovative machine-learning techniques to improve our understanding of galaxy morphology.
Project Objectives
The project aims to develop and apply novel deep learning techniques to study the morphology of galaxies in different environments using archival and/or brand new data from space telescopes.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will use the ESA Datalabs platform to develop and deploy models based on archival data from space missions and algorithms developed by Galaxy Zoo.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have research experience in galaxy evolution, experience with machine learning, and strong communication skills.
Qualifications
The candidate must hold a PhD in astrophysics or a comparable field.
