TransPerfect is seeking a highly skilled Financial Translator to join our team. As a key player in the Production Department, you will be responsible for translating financial documents from English to Simplified Chinese and vice versa.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately translate financial documents, including research reports, investment banking materials, and equity research reports.
- Understand the meaning and context of financial documents, ensuring that the original context and meaning are preserved.
- Consult with subject matter experts and colleagues to resolve content-related issues or concerns.
- Use online translation tools to assist with translation, as needed.
- Research, check, and confirm statements, numbers, company/product names, and other material in written research submitted.
- Ensure consistency between underlying arguments, financial models, and investment conclusions.
- Translate a variety of financial documents, including literary, legal, research, technical, and commercial materials.
- Edit jobs by freelance translators and obtain final approval from senior linguists on modifications.
- Maintain glossaries and style guides.
- Juggle multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Receive requests from clients, understand the scope, negotiate timelines if needed, and coordinate with the offsite translation team.
- Flexibility to work in a shift schedule, including evenings and weekends, if needed.
- Perform ad hoc tasks as requested by the client or supervisor.
- Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with clients to deliver high-quality written communications with tight deadlines.
- Manage projects/deliverables by actively communicating with team members about deadlines and informing all interested parties of deliverable timelines and status.
- Timely escalate any issues to your manager and assist them in resolving issues.
- Fluency in Simplified Chinese and English.
