Position Overview: Bertrandt is in search of a meticulous International Trade Compliance Specialist to enhance our operational capabilities. In this role, you will be instrumental in guaranteeing adherence to rigorous global export laws and internal policies related to the exportation of aerospace, defense, or dual-use goods, technologies, and services. This position demands exceptional attention to detail, superior communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of export control legislation within the aerospace and defense industries.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and execute thorough export control protocols and policies customized for the aerospace and defense sectors, ensuring strict compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Perform regular evaluations and audits to maintain strong compliance with export control standards specific to aerospace and defense.
  • Assess and categorize aerospace products, technologies, and services to accurately determine export control jurisdiction and classification.
  • Scrutinize aerospace and defense export transactions and documentation for precision and compliance with strict export regulations.
  • Offer expert advice and tailored training to internal teams regarding aerospace and defense export control laws and requirements.
  • Serve as the main liaison for government entities and external partners concerning aerospace and defense export control issues, nurturing robust relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional aerospace teams to proactively identify and resolve export compliance challenges, effectively mitigating associated risks.
  • Oversee aerospace and defense-related licenses, permits, and authorizations necessary for international shipments, ensuring timely processing and compliance.
  • Investigate and report any potential violations of aerospace and defense export control regulations promptly, implementing corrective measures as needed to uphold compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, International Trade, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in aerospace export compliance, ideally within the aerospace sector.
  • Extensive knowledge of international aerospace and defense trade regulations, including ITAR, EAR, and other pertinent aerospace and defense regulations.
  • Demonstrated success in conducting thorough aerospace and defense export compliance audits and evaluations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish.
