Department Lead

Category Sales Management:

The Department Lead is responsible for cultivating a comprehensive and strategic understanding of the category business and relating to all relevant stakeholders. This includes:

  • Monitoring and achieving category department performance with relevant KPIs
  • Analyzing the category business and proposing action plans to improve results
  • Setting category performance targets for the team and individuals with the Store Manager
  • Providing feedback to the Store Manager on competitors' trading activities

Client Management:

The Department Lead leverages clienteling tools to achieve Department and Store business goals. This includes:

  • Delivering excellent customer service and implementing clienteling activities
  • Managing customer service quality to meet customer expectations
  • Improving Mystery Shopper Results with action plans
  • Implementing appropriate CRM tools and developing loyal customers in a particular product category

Operations and Visual Merchandising:

The Department Lead ensures that merchandise is properly managed, displayed, stored, and maintained by the team. This includes:

  • Maintaining inventory accuracy and shrink rates within company standards
  • Reporting to Stock Planning and Merchandising team when there are out-of-stock situations on best sellers
  • Maintaining the Visual Merchandising consistent with Company standards
  • Aligning visual merchandising and sales performance periodically

Team Management and Development:

The Department Lead discusses individual performance every month and coaches team members. This includes:

  • Motivating the team to perform at their highest level to meet individual and store objectives
  • Organizing the team efficiently according to business needs and delegating responsibilities
  • Translating strategic and business goals into concrete individual actions and objectives
  • Conducting category training for the team

Requirements:

  • 5 years' experience in a Supervisor role in Fashion/Luxury Sales with exposure to the relevant category
  • Master's Degree or equivalent is preferred
  • Strong selling and communication skills are necessary
  • Excellent relationship skills, self-reliant
  • Confidence, organizational skills, professionalism
  • Client focus with great business acumen
  • Administration and financial skills
  • Computer skills and Retail management system knowledge
  • Goal-oriented approach, multitasking
  • Fluency in English; a third language will be considered a plus
