Research Economist

Company Overview: The Department of Fundamentals of Economic Analysis at the Universidad de Alicante invites applications for an Assistant Researcher position to collaborate with the funded line of research “Economics: Theory and Applications”.

Salary: €1,347.86 gross monthly remuneration (plus extra payments in accordance with current regulations).

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Economist to join our team. As an Assistant Researcher, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects in the field of economics, including experimental design, data analysis, and complexity in human decision-making under risk.

The successful applicant will have the chance to contribute to cutting-edge research in behavioral economics and current social challenges. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other researchers and academics in the department, presenting your work at international conferences and publishing in top-tier journals.

Your main responsibilities will include assisting with the design of experiments, programming software for conducting experiments, and analyzing experimental data. You will also be expected to measure complexity in human decision-making under risk and present your findings in a clear and concise manner.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong background in economics, with a focus on microeconomics. A Master's degree in Economics or a related field is essential, as well as experience with statistical software packages such as R or Stata.

You should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Additionally, you should be proficient in English, both written and spoken, as this is the primary language used in academic research.
