Operations Director

About the Role

As an Operations Manager at Engineeringuk, you will be responsible for leading a team of Area Managers and driving operational excellence across our sites. Your key responsibilities will include managing and developing your team, leading operational teams on a shift, and analysing shift performance against relevant business objectives.

A Day in the Life

You will lead shifts at one of our operational sites, working closely with other support teams such as HR, Finance, Health and Safety, and Security. You will also be responsible for mentoring and coaching your team, providing leadership and support to help them achieve their best.

About the Team

You will be part of the Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team, which plays a central role in our success. Our team uses air, sea and road transport, as well as sortation centres equipped with the latest technology, to help Amazon's transport run at maximum efficiency. We put safety first, and our people are our priority. We use data to drive decisions and make Amazon more innovative and efficient.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree and relevant experience in people and stakeholder management are required. Advanced proficiency in English and intermediate proficiency in the local language are also necessary. Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions and experience in key areas of production and supply chains are also required. Experience in Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen techniques and relevant experience working with the MS Office suite are preferred.
