Risk Management Specialist with English Proficiency

Role Overview
As a key member of the Risk Team, the Risk Specialist plays a crucial role in safeguarding our users and their customers from various risks associated with payment processing. Each day, specialists assess businesses that seek to utilize our platform, verifying and validating the information provided by merchants. This involves a thorough comparison of application details against supporting documents, such as websites and internal databases, to evaluate potential risks including supportability, KYC, credit, and fraud.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure all necessary details are submitted for application processing.
- Authenticate the identity of merchants to confirm the validity of submitted information.
- Conduct checks in both internal and external databases to validate merchant information and assess supportability.
- Identify and document discrepancies that may indicate risks requiring further investigation.
- Review products listed on merchant websites against provided descriptions and industry standards.
- Utilize an internal supportability list to determine compliance with client guidelines and identify any violations.
- Categorize businesses based on established guidelines as supportable, prohibited, or needing adjustments.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in internet and social media research, with at least one year of experience in computer usage.
- Fluent in English (C1 level or higher).
- Detail-oriented with the ability to notice inconsistencies across multiple sources.
- Empathetic approach, recognizing the human aspect behind each business.
- Efficient in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
- Comfortable making decisions with incomplete or ambiguous information.
- Persistent and thorough in investigating cases and understanding underlying issues.
- Collaborative mindset, willing to share knowledge and best practices with team members.
Preferred Experience:
- Background in payments, risk management, compliance, or the financial sector.
- Experience in a user support role within a technology company.
- Familiarity with investigative roles that involve decision-making.
