Position Overview

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to spearhead a project aimed at exploring the potential of nuclear localization of metabolic enzymes as a predictive marker for cancer stage, grade, and therapeutic response. The successful candidate will engage in the analysis of mass spectrometry (MS) data to assess the enrichment of metabolic enzymes within the chromatin compartment. This data will be corroborated through immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence techniques, with support from a technician. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for developing a comprehensive pipeline for image analysis and the integration of various markers alongside the subcellular localization of selected metabolic enzymes. The ultimate objective of this project is to establish innovative guidelines for patient stratification based on the subcellular localization of these enzymes.

About Our Laboratory

Our lab is dedicated to high-throughput image analysis, subcellular proteomics, transcriptomics, genetic screening, bioinformatics, and advanced cell and molecular biology techniques. We are a diverse team of approximately 10 individuals from various cultural backgrounds. Situated within the genome biology department at the CRG, our mission is to unravel the reasons behind the nuclear localization of metabolic enzymes and their involvement in specific chromatin functions.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications

Required Skills

- Proven expertise in bioinformatics
- Experience in image analysis, omics analysis, and mass spectrometry
- A first-author publication is essential
- Eligibility for national or international fellowship programs

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiarity with cancer biology, particularly breast cancer

Educational Background

- PhD in biological sciences, Molecular Biology, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or related disciplines

Language Proficiency

- Proficient in English, both written and spoken

Employment Conditions

Contract Duration: Technical and scientific activities contract, with an estimated duration of 1 year and potential for renewal.
Salary: Compensation will be aligned with qualifications and consistent with our established pay scales.
Start Date: Targeted for November.
