About the Role:
The Spa Therapist is a key member of our team at Grand Hyatt Barcelona, responsible for providing exceptional massage, facial, and body treatment experiences to our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality massage, facial, and body treatments that meet our established standards and exceed guest expectations.
- Perform a range of treatments on our services menu, based on current licensure and guest preferences.
- Assess guest contraindications and take necessary precautions to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
- Provide exceptional customer service, meeting the needs of guests throughout their treatment.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to our high standards of hygiene and sanitation.
- Stay up-to-date with product knowledge and recommend relevant products for guest use.
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide a seamless and personalized experience for our guests.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and priorities.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Report any incidents or accidents to management, ensuring a safe working environment.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid state license in massage therapy or equivalent credentials.
- Previous experience in massage, esthetic, and body work, preferably in a spa setting.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to build rapport with guests.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain treatments and services to guests.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Physical stamina to perform treatments and stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies, up to 25 pounds.
- Visual acuity and ability to operate equipment safely.
Working Conditions:
The Spa Therapist will work in a fast-paced spa environment, with exposure to odors, fumes, and vibrations. The ability to work in a hot and humid environment, with occasional exposure to water and steam, is also required.
