Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Engineer to join our team at CIMNE. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing the GPFEM code for soil-root interactions, with a focus on modeling the mechanical behavior of roots and root systems in the soil.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and test the GPFEM code for soil-root interactions
  • Implement large displacement beam theory and contact interactions with the soil
  • Conduct research on constitutive models for soil-root interactions
  • Collaborate with the development team to integrate new features into the G-PFEM framework

Requirements:

  • PhD in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with the GPFEM code and its application to geotechnical problems
  • Strong programming skills in C++
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
