Job Opportunity at Barcelona Supercomputing Center

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Research Manager to join our team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the coordination of the IMPaCT Data Science programme, liaising with stakeholders, and contributing to the technical tasks.


Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and monitor the progress of research projects, ensuring timely completion and effective resource allocation.
  • Interface with BSC legal services, researchers, and external parties to negotiate and manage contracts, agreements, and partnerships.
  • Organize and participate in project meetings, reviews, and other events to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain open communication with project stakeholders, participating in regular meetings and discussions.

Requirements
  • Education: University degree in a relevant field, with a strong background in Life Sciences and/or IT.
  • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience: At least two years of experience in research management, project proposal preparation, and coordination, preferably in the life sciences/IT area.
  • Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience: A bioinformatics background, experience in developing project technical specifications, and coordinating research proposals and projects funded by the European Commission and Spanish Plan Estatal.
  • Competences: Fluency in English and Spanish, excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to understand scientific literature and software documentation, and experience working autonomously and under pressure.

Working Conditions
  • The position will be located at BSC within the Life Sciences Department.
  • We offer a full-time contract, a good working environment, flexible working hours, an extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, and support for relocation procedures.
  • Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration.
  • Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement.
  • Salary: Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
