Join Our Team as a Data Scientist

We are Volotea, the airline of the small and mid-sized cities in Europe. Since our inception in 2012, we have been amongst the fastest-growing low-cost airlines in Europe. We are enthusiastic enablers of direct travel for Europeans who don't live in big hubs.

We aim to connect the people in these cities with their passion for travel, in an enjoyable and increasingly sustainable way.

We are looking for a Data Scientist who has experience in interacting with different cultural environments and can work in a challenging high-growth atmosphere.

As a Data Scientist at Volotea, you will combine independent problem-solving tasks with proactive integration in a highly dynamic team.

Your responsibilities will include playing with different data sources to identify, define and develop new process optimization strategies, maintaining, updating and improving existing algorithms and machine learning models, and exploring current industry trends and recent academic research to update and enhance the in-house workflows.

Requirements include a degree in an analytical field, at least one year of experience in data mining, software development, statistics or machine learning, strong programming skills with Python and knowledge of SQL, experience in software design, testing and cloud platforms, ability to think analytically, quantitatively, and creatively, good communication skills, and advanced level of Spanish and English.

Knowledge in cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform will be a plus, as well as exposure to Big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop MapReduce, Hive or Impala.
