The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Trades Assistant to join our team at Malaga, W.A. as a Vehicle Dismantling Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Vehicle Dismantling: Complete daily vehicle hoist inspections and assist in identifying relevant parts to be extracted from various makes and models of vehicles.
  • Part Extraction: Follow standard operating procedures to drain all fluids safely, ensuring no spillage, and clean up any spillages prior to moving to the next task.
  • Part Preparation: Test and clean parts where required, and record activity on dismantling sheets as needed.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Clean the dismantling area in preparation for the next vehicle and maintain tools as required.

Responsibilities

As a Vehicle Dismantling Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Using hand and power tools to remove panels, bumper bars, steering wheels, seats, and other reusable body parts.
  • Assisting in disassembling engines, transmission systems, electrical components, wheels, brakes, and other parts for resale.
  • Cleaning, inspecting, testing, and organizing parts for resale.
  • Tagging parts for inventory or shipping.
  • Complying with all Environmental Protection Authority and state regulations for gases and hazardous material disposal.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Mechanical knowledge of cars.
  • A forklift license (desirable).
  • Own tools (desirable).
  • The ability to work safely and efficiently.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
