Job Title: Firmware Engineer

Contract Type: Indefinite

Working Hours: 40 hours/week

Working Schedule: 9am-6pm

Salary: €40,000-€45,000/year

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware Engineer to join our team at Barcelona Activa. As a Firmware Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing firmware for medical devices, including the development of the LTE module activation in the BraiN20 device and performing communication server validation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement firmware for medical devices, including the development of the LTE module activation in the BraiN20 device and performing communication server validation.
  • Collaborate with hardware designers, testers, biomedical engineers, and UX designers to develop device firmware through the complete product life cycle, from conception to deployment and maintenance.
  • Follow medical device software development processes, adhering to industry and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare formal and informal engineering documentation.
  • Integrate software packages with existing systems and sub-systems.
  • Design, develop, implement, and debug firmware features for components of entire embedded software prototype.
  • Assist in the testing of a proof-of-concept prototype in a healthy volunteer study.

  • Formació complementària: Expert-level C/C++ programming skills, knowledge of firmware testing techniques, experience in microcontrollers family STM32 from ST Microelectronics, experience with wireless communication protocols, experience with embedded FreeRTOS.

  • Altres requeriments específics: Prior development experience in medical device firmware, knowledge of medical device standards, including IEC-62304, programming skills in a language/software relevant to the development of algorithmics (Python).
