The Role

We're seeking an exceptional Senior Software Developer to join our team as a Payments Expert. As a key member of our backend team, you'll design, build, and maintain complex server-side applications for payment management. Your expertise will contribute to the continuous improvement of our platform architecture and security, elevating payments to new heights.

Your Key Responsibilities

Evaluate and experiment with innovative technologies and techniques to enhance our tech stack.

• Ensure high availability, scalability, and speed of our backend infrastructure.

• Design and implement highly secure, fault-tolerant APIs that meet industry standards.

• Collaborate closely with infrastructure and frontend teams to drive seamless integration and innovation.

• Develop our next-generation developer framework and workflows, enabling merchants and third-parties to integrate effortlessly.

• Identify and define improvements to our existing infrastructure, driving efficiency and performance.

• Conduct thorough code reviews and continuously evaluate ways to improve our development processes and workflows.

• Mentor and support junior engineers in the team and related teams, fostering growth and excellence.

• Cultivate deep payments expertise, continually seeking opportunities to optimize the merchant developer experience.

• Troubleshoot production issues across services and multiple layers of the stack, ensuring swift resolution and minimal downtime.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:


• Extensive experience building high-performance, distributed systems.

• Proven expertise with server-driven UI architectures, patterns, and API design.

• A passion for creating beautiful, well-tested code and implementing modern development practices such as BDD and TDD.

• In-depth understanding of the entire development process, from design to deployment.

• Ability to mentor junior developers and lead by example.

• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate technical approaches and provide viable alternative solutions.

• 5+ years of experience with Java and working with relational databases (MySQL, Postgres).
