Water Infrastructure Manager Job Description

This role is part of the EMEA Energy and Water team, responsible for scaling and growth across our Data Centre network.

We're looking for a Water Infrastructure Manager to drive the development, implementation, and construction of new water infrastructure projects.

Your work will focus on delivering large-scale water projects, ensuring our infrastructure operates renewably and strategically.

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.

We're the people who keep the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment.

You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.

Collaborate with people across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

This role is available in Madrid or Zaragoza.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage design consultants, contractual drafting, develop and document requirements, budgets, and project schedules.
  • Manage remote 3rd project delivery teams from design through to construction, and facilitate technical whiteboard sessions to troubleshoot project implementation issues.
  • Multitask and reprioritize, effectively leading deliveries based on ever-changing business needs.
  • Build and maintain overall delivery program and project budget, submitting Capital Allocation Requests to Senior leadership to secure finance for project delivery.
  • Prepare investment need/business case papers to secure internal funding for water reinforcement projects to secure water supply and discharges.
A Day in the Life:
  • Liaison with a wide range of regulators and external stakeholders (Water utilities, environmental agencies, health department, construction contractors, etc).
  • Leverage project management tools and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Regularly report to senior leadership on status of key project metrics vs. commitment of your projects.
  • Ensure construction standards are followed and national construction regulations are complied with.
