About the Role
Columbia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our Store Leadership Team. As a key member of the team, you will assist the Store Manager in ensuring effective store operations, driving sales, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to the store staff, including supervisors and associates, to achieve sales and service goals.
- Execute and support plans to enhance employee productivity and performance, ensuring a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Assist the Store Manager in interviewing, hiring, training, and coaching of a diverse staff as necessary, to ensure a skilled and motivated team.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels through effective replenishment, organization, shrink control, and communication, to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Assist the Store Manager with the development and implementation of action plans to address any issues relating to store sales, goals, safety, training, and personnel development.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a retail leadership role or specialization.
- Ability to operate a Point of Sales (POS) system, other in-store computerized systems, and telephone.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to exchange ideas and information with store leadership team, associates, and consumers.
- Frequently in a more active environment, requiring the ability to constantly move about, and occasionally work in a place.
- Availability to work a flexible retail schedule, which may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.
