About the ROLE
The Lead Android Developer position is pivotal in shaping the next generation of Android applications for our clients, collaborating with cross-functional teams to create robust, responsive, and aligned applications.
As a developer in this position, you will build features from scratch and refine existing components, ensuring exceptional user experiences. This role provides opportunities to lead technical projects, innovate in app design, and drive solutions that impact real-world applications.

- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade software.
- Create security and data protection settings.
- Build features and applications with a responsive design.
- Write technical documentation.
- Work with data scientists and analysts to improve software.
- Provide inputs from your end to build robust software solutions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes.
- Understanding of Android Porting and Build process.
- Having 5+ years of experience in Native apps development.
- Strong experience with Video Processing.
- Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient Android Apps using Android SDK, Java, Kotlin, Jetpack components, SQLite Database, MVVM Architecture.
- Manage the full technical life-cycle of Android applications during each development phase including functional technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Must have own computer (relevant software and subscriptions provided).
- Excellent English verbal and written language proficiency (C1-C2 in CEFR Scale).
- Access to a quiet work area at home with reliable internet (50 Mbps or more).
NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 3 years experience with Kotlin.
- FireTV/OTT application development.
- Smart TV apps development.
- CI/CD pipelines, Server management.
- Multi-platform hybrid platform language.
- Backend language: NodeJS.
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, and relevant certifications in cloud computing or backend development are a plus.
- Base Salary: USD 4,000 - 6,000 base salary depending on experience and location.
- Role type: Full-time Contractor
- Location: Mexico (Remote - Work from home).
- Schedule: Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
- Application/Screening: A short questionnaire to get to know you better and ask for some additional inputs to see if you qualify for the position.
- Skills Assessment: A few exercises and/or projects designed to recreate the work tasks that you will be responsible for if you are given the role.
- Skills Assessment Interview: A 60 min - 90 min conversation where we further test your skills, learn about your previous working experiences, and evaluate culture fit to the role and company.
- Hiring Manager Final Interview: A 30 min - 60 min conversation with the position's Hiring Manager (and potentially a few company team members) to get to know you better and to set the expectations and vision for the role.
The entire process usually takes anywhere between 2-4 weeks to complete depending on the seniority of the position.
