About the Position
We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Research Scientist to join our team at ICFO. The successful candidate will be part of the Molecular Nanophotonics group, led by Prof. Dr. Niek van Hulst, and will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Group Leader in project management, particularly those involving advanced spectroscopy.
- Co-supervising PhD students and MSc and/or exchange students.
- Managing the laboratory organization of the Molecular NanoPhotonics group.
- Setting up a microscopic platform with incoherent action detected multidimensional spectroscopy.
- Setting up a platform for photocurrent detected broad-band ultrafast spectroscopy.
- Developing conceptual models to interpret multidimensional spectroscopies.
- Taking initiative in implementing compressed sensing and AI methods.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will hold an internationally-recognized Ph.D.-equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the nearest future) preferably in physics and/or chemistry. The candidate should have:
- Proven experience in ultrafast multidimensional spectroscopy.
- Proven experience in low light level microscopy.
- A solid academic track record.
- Proven experience in supervision of exchange, MSc, PhD students.
- Persistence in experimental laboratory problem solving.
- Creativity in planning, modeling, and analyzing advanced experimental research.
- Strong communication skills and community spirit.

Benefits
Salaries for ICFO Staff researcher positions are assigned by the Selection Committee, based on experience and seniority of the applicant, as well as the assigned tasks and responsibilities within the group. Standard salaries range from a lower level aligned with national Ramon-y-Cajal fellowships to higher levels aligned with Marie Sklodowska-Curie individual fellowships.
Contract Details
The position will be formalized with a full-time no-end contract linked to the specific research line described in this opening, within the Molecular Nanophotonics area. The contract will remain active as long as the group continues being operative.
