Aircraft Maintenance Documentation Specialist

Job Summary:

The Technical Writer will be responsible for creating high-quality documentation to support aircraft maintenance and regulatory compliance. This includes authoring engineering order documents, repetitive maintenance program task cards, and other technical documents. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and be able to communicate complex technical information effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Author technical documents to instruct aircraft mechanics and inspectors on regulatory and company requirements.
  • Make technical decisions regarding applicability of tasks listed in regulatory documents and OEM service bulletins.
  • Ensure quality documents are free of technical, spelling, and grammatical errors.
  • Coordinate and account for accomplishing work within established timeframes.
  • Responsible for logging and tracking of assigned tasks and work hours.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings.
Qualifications & Experience:

Required:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience authoring work instructions for aircraft maintenance.
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements related to aircraft configuration control.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Strong basic computer skills and MS Office Suite.

Preferred:

  • Possess valid FAA Airframe and/or Power Plant licenses (or equivalent).
  • Strongly preferred to have a minimum 2 years' Aircraft mechanic experience.
  • Higher education degree (aviation related preferred).
