Runnymede College, a private non-denominational British school in Madrid, is seeking an outstanding Mathematics teacher to join its Prep School team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mathematics and the ability to teach students from Year 4 to Year 8.

The successful candidate will be passionate about Mathematics and committed to achieving the best results for pupils at all levels. They will be able to engage and motivate students using effective teaching methods and differentiation.

We follow a Mastery curriculum and scheme of work for Year 7 to Year 8, and White Rose for Year 4 to Year 6. The ideal candidate will be able to plan and deliver lessons for students from Year 4 to 8.

The successful applicant will have:

  • a good honours degree from a British University
  • a PGCE or other qualified teacher status for primary or secondary Mathematics teaching
  • recent experience teaching Key Stage 3 Mathematics
  • excellent teamwork skills and be willing to collaborate on planning and resourcing
  • the ability to modify learning strategies to target the needs of individual students
  • high expectations of pupils' effort and behaviour, and facilitate this with proven classroom management skills
  • be organised and able to prioritise to meet deadlines
  • be motivated and use initiative to contribute to the success of the department
  • have a good working knowledge of ICT systems and the application of ICT in the classroom

Other preferable but not essential criteria include previous experience of an international school and recent experience as a teacher in a school in the UK.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and first round interviews will take place via Zoom on a rolling basis. The final round interview will be held face-to-face at Runnymede College in Madrid.
