Job Title:

Non-IT Services Category Lead Buyer

The Non-IT Services Category Lead Buyer is responsible for developing and implementing global category practices for non-IT Services categories, including strategic consulting, events, marketing, human resources, finance, and more. This role involves leading the development of category management for the Middle East and Africa region and working closely with the rest of the Purchasing Clusters and regional Lead Buyers.

Main Responsibilities:

• Oversee global categories, guiding sourcing projects, contract implementation, and ensuring contract compliance.

• Analyze and set category spend baseline and category profile, including risk assessment, Vendor Relationship Management, and Procure-to-Pay strategy.

• Develop specific category strategies with the support of the Category Lead buyers and support the Cluster Lead in defining a priority list of categories suitable for strategic sourcing initiatives.

• Perform internal and external analysis (industry and supplier) as a member of a cross-functional sourcing team and coordinate and manage all steps of the sourcing process.

• Manage vendor relationships, support the classification and categorization of vendors in line with the defined procurement strategy, and continuously track supplier performance and guide supplier development activities.

• Manage internal customer relationships, develop and manage relationships with internal customers within the framework of cross-functional vendor management teams, and actively organize sessions with internal customers to identify further Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Total Value of Ownership (TVO) reduction opportunities.

About the Ideal Candidate:

• Over 5 years of experience leading multinational teams and in strategic procurement or sourcing job.

• Proven ability to work to tight timelines, discuss complex technical topics, and strong technical acumen.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP, Contract management tools, and Sourcing tools (ideally Coupa).

• Fluent in English; other languages are valuable.

• Expert in procurement analysis, strategic levers for Purchasing, products/services knowledge, Strategic Sourcing Projects management, and negotiation principles.
