Join our team at Alvarez & Marsal, a leading global professional services firm, as we seek a highly skilled Capital Markets Accounting Advisory Manager to join our Madrid office.
About the RoleWe are looking for a seasoned professional with expertise in Capital Markets Accounting Advisory to contribute to large-scale accounting advisory engagements and provide accounting support to clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and transaction advisory services.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to complex accounting advisory engagements, including implementation assistance with accounting inquiries or new accounting standards and drafting Accounting Position Papers.
- Support regulatory filings for spin-offs, carve-outs, initial public offerings (IPO), debt offerings, and other acquisition filings for both domestic and cross-border transactions.
- Provide transaction-oriented accounting and reporting assistance for M&A, divestitures, complex capital raising/restructures, financial instruments, revenue recognition, and fresh-start accounting support to clients upon emergence from bankruptcy.
- Manage staff, financial metrics of the engagement, and preparation and presentation of accounting findings and concepts.
- Support the development of the CMAA team, including recruitment, mentoring, and training junior team members.
- Experience in Capital Markets Accounting Advisory at a leading accountancy firm.
- Strong technical skills and a working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, ESMA, SEC, or FCA financial reporting issues.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Proactive in identifying client needs and effective in building a strong relationship with clients.
- Entrepreneurial nature, self-motivated, ethical, and dependable.
