About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our international prop-tech team at our headquarters in Barcelona. This position reports to our Group Controller and is responsible for handling accounting at the entity and group level for our organization.

Key Responsibilities

Support the monthly group consolidation process, including intercompany reconciliations, eliminations, and foreign currency translations.
Prepare supporting documentation and schedules for annual audits and tax filings.
Assist in developing and maintaining strong internal controls and accounting procedures to ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations within Business Central.
Support the Group Controller with financial analysis and reporting, including variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Prepare the group to undergo audits from 2025 onwards, creating processes and implementing best practices.
Maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including operations, sales, and marketing, to ensure accurate and timely accounting data.

About the Team

The Emerald Stay finance and accounting department has been growing quickly with the extremely quick pace of revenue growth the company has been experiencing these past years. The company operates as a group headquartered in Switzerland with subsidiaries and operations in France, Spain, and the UK. We had operated with internal systems particular to the hospitality industry and outsourced the accounting work to external consultants, but the scale and size that we have grown to make this solution suboptimal. As such, we are undertaking an in-housing of a greater number of responsibilities and have implemented Business Central as our accounting software.

About You

To be considered, you must meet the following requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a multi-entity or group consolidation role.
Experience with Microsoft Business Central (formerly Dynamics) preferred but not mandatory.
Experience with audits strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of IFRS and local accounting standards.
Advanced Excel skills.
Fluency in English, French strongly preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
