Job Title: Senior Software Engineering Manager
Location: Ebury Madrid Office - Hybrid (4 days in the office, 1 day working from home)
This role is part of the Ebury Technology Department, focusing on leading a team centered on Client Evolution development. As a Senior Software Engineering Manager, you will work closely with the product and technology teams to identify and prioritize key areas of a partner's business where AI solutions can drive significant business benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand company and client challenges and how integrating AI capabilities can help lead to solutions.
- Manage product priorities and represent the team in different forums.
- Work closely with Product to have clear implementation plans for product roadmaps.
- Foster technical decision-making on the team, but make final decisions when necessary.
- Draft and review quarterly Engineering KPIs for your team.
- Define and implement best practices for monitoring, incident management, and troubleshooting of infrastructure and applications.
- Design and implement automation tools and processes to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Participate in the design and implementation of new systems and services to ensure they meet our reliability and scalability requirements.
- Manage the team's performance, develop career paths, and provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
- Give regular and clear feedback around an individual's performance.
- Keep up-to-date with emerging technologies, tools, and practices.
- Setting clear team goals and delegating tasks and setting deadlines for your internal team.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of basic algorithms, object-oriented and functional design principles, and best-practice patterns.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in managing teams.
- In-depth knowledge of performance metrics.
- Organizational and time-management skills.
- Decision-making skills.
- Strong knowledge of Linux systems, cloud infrastructure, networking, and databases.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing highly available and scalable applications.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g. Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Since you will work side by side with colleagues from different countries, you will be able to communicate clearly and concisely your ideas in English both written and spoken.
