About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Network Deployment Planner to join our Planning and Implementation team within AWS Data Center Delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for scoping and planning interdependent capacity scaling projects and new network capacity deployments across several data center locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to timelines and deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes.
- Work closely with our Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, Network Engineers and Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth delivery of on-demand customer capacity.
- Knowledge of network cabling and optic types, experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies, and familiarity with common networking terms.
- Excellent judgement and analytical skills, ability to prioritize tasks based on fluctuating needs, and strong prioritization and time management ability.
- Coordination of design, project timeline/schedule and construction milestones, and experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management.
Requirements:
- 5+ years data center networking experience working with optics and bulk fiber.
- 3+ years experience working with large scaling infrastructure deployments.
- 3+ years experience working with 3rd party vendors on large projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years data center networking experience working with optics, bulk fiber and a firm understanding of power and cooling.
- 5+ years experience working with large scaling infrastructure deployments.
- 3+ years of experience working new data center builds.
