About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Specialist Drafter to join our team at AECOM. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in geographic information systems (GIS) and spatial data analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Major Projects: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support major projects in a GIS environment.
  • Provide Consultancy Services: Offer consultancy services to internal and external clients to understand their needs and provide solutions.
  • Geospatial Data Management: Develop and implement GIS standards and best practices, and provide support and guidance on spatial data management.
  • Geodatabase Design and Management: Design and manage geodatabases, perform geoprocessing and analysis tasks, and produce maps and drawings.
  • WebGIS Development: Develop and implement webGIS solutions, including setting up map viewers, data collection applications, and dashboards.
  • Mobile App Development: Develop and use Esri mobile apps, such as Survey123, Field Maps, QuickCapture, and Workforce.
  • Quality Assurance: Take responsibility for the spatial data review process and the application of quality standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively interact with multidisciplinary teams and potentially coordinate GIS work with other colleagues.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in GIS/Geospatial services, Geography, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English and Spanish writing and verbal.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of experience as a GIS Technician.
  • Skills: Full professional competence in GIS, including data compilation, database development, and spatial analysis.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online/Enterprise Portal, and other relevant software.
Desirable Skills
  • Database Knowledge: Knowledge of database management systems, such as ArcGIS for Server, EQuIS, MS Access, and SQL Server.
  • WebGIS Experience: Experience with web-based GIS services, such as Geocortex, CARTO, Mapbox, QGIS Cloud, and Instamaps.
  • Software Development: Experience with software development, including Esri products, such as ArcGIS REST API, ArcGIS API for JavaScript, and Portal for ArcGIS.
  • Mobile App Development: Experience with mobile app development, including Esri mobile apps.
  • Engineering Software: Knowledge of engineering software, such as CAD/BIM-related software.
