About the Role

As a Field Engineer at Amazon Data Services Spain, S. L, you will play a critical role in providing full life-cycle support to our data centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance.

You will be the go-to engineering resource for your region, providing technical advice and expertise to diverse teams. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities
  • Performing design and equipment submittal review for new data centers in your region
  • Troubleshooting and conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for site/equipment failures
  • Directly supporting operational issues with ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, and event support
  • Designing and implementing upgrades for existing data centers to improve availability and efficiency
  • Collaborating with internal teams to promote standards and consistency in services delivered
  • Working on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions
  • Acting as resident engineer during new construction projects and supporting construction, commissioning
  • Supporting global projects/audits in the region

As a Field Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects at hyper-scale, leveraging your engineering judgment and expertise to drive results. If you possess strong engineering skills, are detail-oriented, and have experience managing engineering projects and consultants, this role may be an excellent fit for you.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3+ cumulative years of experience with industrial or commercial engineering in Mission Critical facilities, including data centers, power generation, oil/gas facilities
  • Organized and able to set priorities and meet deadlines and budget
  • Leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using a variety of web-based and other software tools for calculation and data processing
  • Direct experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
  • Ability to carry design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment/mass production
