Job Summary
The Real World Evidence (RWE) Platform at Pfizer is seeking a highly experienced scientific leader to drive the generation of integrated, end-to-end observational real-world evidence across all therapeutic areas. As a key member of the Chief Medical Affairs Office, you will be responsible for establishing global scientific leadership and stature through the development of RWE strategies, scenario and tactical plans, operating models, and quality control procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Support cross-functional teams to execute against a vision for patient-centric early integrated evidence generation for the Pfizer enterprise at a global, regional, and local level.
- Identify, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to the Head of RWE Strategic Planning for their category.
- Establish franchise and/or asset-level RWE strategies, scenario and tactical plans, operating models, and quality control procedures.
- Supervise up to 2-6 dedicated RWE Scientists and be responsible for oversight, quality, and innovation of all prioritized global, regional, and local studies for assigned franchises and assets.
- Collaborate with CMAO and RWE Platforms & Partnerships colleagues, Clinical Scientists, Biostatistics, Statistical Programming, and Digital.
- Lead through influence to build upon a culture of continuous learning and objective measurements activities for end-to-end evidence generation.
- Identify and scale innovation opportunities across categories/business units and franchises.
- Ensure that appropriate standards for cross-functional team-endorsed cohort definitions and business rules are digitized and disseminated.
Requirements
- Advanced degree, including MS/MA, MPH, MD, PhD, or equivalent qualifications.
- 8 years' experience with a PhD, 10 years with a master's degree, or 5 years with an MD in leading teams.
- Direct experience as part of product development cross-functional teams.
- Ability to have spirited and direct scientific and operational discussions.
- High degree of energy, enthusiasm, and motivation for scientific discoveries.
- Strong situational leadership skills and the ability to lead through influence.
- Significant cross-functional leadership/management experience.
- Global recognition as a scientific leader with 15+ scientific publications.
- Demonstrated ability to create and articulate global strategies.
- Excellence in speaking/communicating publicly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Successfully executed a major late-phase development or post-approval pharmaceutical product program.
- Blend of non-pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical experience.
- Experience working with key regulatory agencies.
- Multiple languages.
- Experiences overseeing or implementing studies globally.
Non-Standard Work Schedule, Travel, or Environment Requirements
Travel of ~10%, depending on budgets, organizational needs, and any other relevant restrictions.
