Backend Developer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Backend Developer to strengthen our team at Backbase Inc. As a Backend Developer, you will join a Product team in our Wealth value stream within the R&D department and focus on the Wealth Core Service, which supports digital investing products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to new and existing functionalities, proof of concepts, and technical improvements for the Digital Investing Platform.
  • Take ownership of software development and collaborate with architects, QA engineers, DevOps, and other team members to ensure implementation aligns with our technical vision and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and secure backend systems using Python, Django, and relational databases (MSSQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement non-functional aspects such as security, performance, and scalability.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our technology stack.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, including design and implementation.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, spoken and written.
  • Experience with Python, Django, CI/CD, and containerization.
  • Knowledge of relational databases and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid working model with a focus on collaboration and teamwork.
