The Warehouse / Logistics Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse and logistics activities. This role is responsible for coordinating and executing assigned tasks, managing logistical providers and internal employees, and ensuring operational management in line with specifications, orders, and safety policies.

The Warehouse / Logistics Assistant is a support/execution role in the Logistics/Supply Chain area, focusing on administrative support and execution of the warehousing function, or on logistics/(outbound) transport, or a combination of both areas.

Typically, this role reports to the Warehouse & Logistics Manager, or the Warehouse Manager or Transport/Logistics Manager, and this defines the focus of the role.

In larger operations, the role is more specific, with a specialist focus on stock control, transport planning, etc. In smaller operations, the role is more general, requiring an all-rounder to pitch in with all aspects of goods control and distribution, which may also include driving a forklift if required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory management & stock control: (Re-)Orders materials and/or equipment where needed, registers these in the relevant databases/systems, provides input on performance of suppliers, and inspects, manages, and maintains materials, tools, and/or equipment on stock.
  • Inbound goods and storing: Coordinates the intake of incoming materials and/or equipment, checks and registers for quantity, damages, and completeness, and organizes location for unloading and storage.
  • Order handling: Receives and processes orders of (internal and external) customers, selects, checks, packs, and/or distributes the required materials and/or equipment to customers and to the required location.
