Military Health and Safety Manager, Health and Safety Expert

Job Summary
This role is focused on individuals with military experience looking to transition into the private sector. Amazon's military recruiting team is available to discuss the various opportunities within Amazon. As a Workplace, Health and Safety (WHS) Manager within the Amazon Fulfillment Centre (FC), you will play a key role in driving improvements on-site and at a regional level. Your responsibilities will include managing health and safety standards, identifying and coordinating improvements in inbound safety, quality, and productivity, and working with Operations Management teams to continuously improve the functionality and level of service provided to customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage aspects of output in your area, including people management, metrics, productivity targets, and process improvements.
* Supervise staff to ensure delivery of objectives and proactively engage in collaborative health and safety projects across all operations sites.
* Provide authoritative advice and guidance on health and safety matters to all stakeholders within designated areas of responsibility.
* Review and audit arrangements for health and safety management and continuously improve these arrangements where appropriate.
* Provide strategies to plan and organize work systems to reduce health and safety risks and recommend suitable adaptations to plant, machinery, and processes.
* Ensure robust reporting regimes are in place for H&S statistics and provide management information and statistics related to your area of responsibility.
* Support business change through effective change management processes within the fast-paced FC environment and drive behavioral culture change programs across a large, complex, multi-shift operation.

This is an extremely varied role based at one of our sites, allowing you to directly contribute to many aspects of our safety culture. You will manage health and safety standards while improving functionality and efficiency.
