Job DescriptionWe're seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Care Platform team within our Care Tribe. As a key member of our Bureau of Technology, you'll be responsible for mentoring and coaching engineers, cultivating a collaborative team environment, leading delivery, and driving continuous improvement. This is a hands-on role, requiring personal contribution and a commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities:- Lead a collaborative team in delivering exceptional software that meets customer and seller expectations
- Collaborate with product groups and other tribes to align the team with company objectives and initiatives
- Develop people and teams through ongoing coaching and mentoring
- Create a team environment that fosters growth, inclusion, and innovation
- Establish open communication and feedback between team members
- Work in an agile environment where engineering teams build, launch, monitor, and support their products
- Identify and implement improvements in processes, practices, and products
- Support teams in increasing delivery proficiency through learning and development opportunities
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Experience and passion for growing, developing, and guiding teams
- Openness to receiving and giving feedback in a safe and supportive environment
- Interest in working in an environment where leaders empower their teams to achieve excellence
- Enthusiasm for reaching new levels of effectiveness and quality
- A background as an individual contributor and willingness to help when needed
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Excitement to learn about our industry and its impact on customers and the world
- Experience working in agile development teams with knowledge of our tech stack (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, RestFul API, Python, Django, VueJs, Nuxt, Datadog, Spinnaker, Nginx, UWSGI)
- Past experience in finance or payment is a strong asset
- Proven experience in search & recommendation topics is a plus
