Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Manager to oversee the design, planning, and construction of Amazon's Fulfillment Centers and other new or expansion projects in the EU. As a key member of the operations team, you will be responsible for project managing the development and implementation of the EU network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee construction engineering, planning, and design for Amazon Fulfillment Centers and other new or expansion projects.
- Support managing building projects and additional capacity requirements within existing European Fulfillment Centers network.
- Oversee construction engineering design on new and existing facilities' projects.
- Prepare reports, specifications, and technical analysis to define design requirements, equipment, and services needed.
- Survey facilities, develop, and document procedures to audit the facility, provide evaluations, and recommend solutions.
- Support negotiations with vendors and present formal documentation for approval when required.
- Ensure contracts are fit for purpose, cost-effective, and incorporate appropriate Service Level Agreements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a comparable field.
- Demonstrable experience as an Architect, Engineer, Construction Manager, Development Manager, Owner's representative, or other Commercial Development and Construction related disciplines.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Demonstrable project management experience from design phase through implementation and operation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- M.Sc in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent disciplines.
- Project Management experience from design phase through implementation and operation.
- Experience with at least two disciplines among General Contracting, Owner's Representation, Commercial Development, Engineering & Design.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary design incorporating industrial automation, robotics, or similar.
- Experience in processing/logistical facilities design, planning, permitting, and construction.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Professional Affiliation to relevant Bodies in the Engineering and Construction Industry (Chartered Engineers, MRICS / RIBA etc).
- Knowledge about Health and Safety in design and/or construction stages.
- Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM).
